Hey, so clearly I haven't been around here for a while! I have been blogging though. A while ago I started a blog that's more of my thoughts and lessons I learn all the time, than pictures and stuff. So basically, it's a "boring" blog. Though, that's for you to decide. I mostly started it as something like a journal, but hey, you can tag along if you'd like. I probably won't be posting here any more. I've found that it's easier to write on my new blog because it's more about life lessons, and thoughts, than this one, where I was trying to think of a topic all the time. Life provides topics pretty well ;-)

Hello people of the world who happen to be reading my blog (small percentage though it may be),

the reason I rarely post is that I can never think of anything to post about so I started trying just posting about completely random things --see previous post-- but now I'm thinking that technically, it's my blog and it's purpose is for me to go on and on and on about whatever I want, and if you feel like reading it..YOU ARE SO AWESOME hahaha, so yeah! I thought today I'd just post some pictures of some of my most favoritest things because I thought it'd be fun.

There happens to be one right across from our house, and it happens to make for great pictures when the sun is shining so insanely brightly. So, I had this idea. I was kind of wondering what exactly it is that I do from day to day. So I thought I would make an effort to document this week and find out! I just thought it'd be fun.
So here's some pictures from today!

I found some water balloons a couple of days ago and was having fun with them today.

Then later I was bored so I started taking self portraits.. which is usually what it comes down to in the end, lol.

Crazy!

That's what it's been around here! What shall I start with telling you about? Hmm..
Jamaica sounds like a good place to start. Or end, it's pretty nice for anything, but I'm going to use it for the beginning of my post :o) So, My Grandma's, brother, and I, got to go on a cruise to Jamaica! We had such a good time! And it was sort of a missions trip-like thing, so it was REALLY cool! We started out by flying to Miami, where we stayed the night and boarded the ship the next day. We then set sail for Jamiaca! When we got there, a couple of days later, we spent our first day on a beach excursion. It was so pretty! They do not lie, the water is BLUE! The day after that was our turn to do the missions part of the trip. We went to a special home for kids with disorders like Down Syndrom and things like that. I think that was my favorite part of the trip, those kids were amazing. So sweet and innocent, it's hard to really explain how cool it was.
(I'm sorry I don't have pictures to share... my computer tends to be... um... silly..)
A week and a half after we returned from that trip, My parents, brother, and I headed to Kentucky for a music festival that I'd been wanting to go to for a LONG time! It was such a blast! Every morning we went to Starbucks for breakfast and wifi :) then our parents would take Mikey and I to the festival, and they would spend the day doing something less, shall we say, exciting? Mikey and I got to see pretty much all of our favorite bands, there were some missing, but there were so many good ones there! we had an awesome time.

Those are some pictures from Kentucky.

Moving on, just yesterday, I turned 16! I had my friends Emma and Lindsay over for a sleepover the night before and in the morning we made, in the words of Emma "Lemon Pancakes with Blueberry junk on top" :-) Then we headed out! We had to drop Lindsay off at home so that she could give a riding lesson, and Emma stuck with us for a while. We went to the drivers center and I took my permit test (My mom and Emma patiently waited first in line with me, then while I read every question 2-3 times) But I passed! So it's all good! Now I can drive my car, which I named Vincent :)

Then we went to lunch at Olive Garden!! Yumm! After that, I had a consultation about me hair, (I'm going to have it colored or something soon..) then we went to Starbucks! After that we had to take Emma home. :( So we went home too, because a while after that we'd be leaving again for my birthday dinner with the family :-)

So that's pretty much the big stuff that's been going on!! (There's no shortage..)

Strawberry Vanilla Mousse Parfaits

For a long time I wanted to make pretty parfaits. I make trifles all the time, but they're bigger. I wanted to make parfaits! So when we recently picked strawberries, it was perfect! So! First I made Strawberry Cinnamon Bread. Here's the recipe for that, which came from allrecipes.com (Woo!)

2 cups fresh strawberries

3 1/8 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups white sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/4 cups vegetable oil

4 eggs, beaten

1 1/4 cups chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter and flour two 9 x 5 inch loaf pans.
Slice strawberries, and place in medium-sized bowl. Sprinkle lightly with sugar, and set aside while preparing bread mixture.
Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt and baking soda in large bowl: mix well. Blend oil and eggs into strawberries. Add strawberry mixture to flour mixture, blending until dry ingredients are just moistened. Stir in pecans. Divide batter into pans.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until tester inserted comes out clean. Let cool in pans on wire rack for 10 minutes. Turn loaves out, and cool completely.

Then I cut that into little cubes. (It was very easy to cut and made very nice little cubes that didn't crumble!) and I mixed up the Vanilla Mousse, which is actually just a small box of "Jello" vanilla pudding, about 3 tablespoons of "Maxwell House International cafe' French Vanilla drink mix powder" (Pictured), and about 2 cups of Cool Whip. So it's not exactly super official Mousse, but it's a little more than just pudding ;-)

Then I cut up the strawberries into little chunks and layered away! It was fun!! Then while I let them chill in the fridge for a few minutes, I made little chocolate garnishes to put on top of them with a bit of Cool Whip! Here's how they looked when I finished them :D

That chocolate splatter was supposed to be a star, but I like it better as a splatter.

This is my customized Chelsea topper :-) (I had to make sure I got one somehow, haha) Notice the Carrot behind my name ;-)

These were sooo fun, I hope you try it sometime!

By the way: I never explained how I made the garnishes. All I did was melt some chocolate wafers in icing bags and then piped them onto wax paper, set them in the freezer for about 3 or 4 minutes, and they were ready to top with! Enjoy!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

There was a fellowship meal yesterday at church, so in preperation for that, on Saturday I got to make a recipe that I've wanted to make for forreeevvveeerrr. Reese's PB cup cookies! Which in case you didn't guess, are peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips and chunks of Reese's PB cups shoved in them :-) As soon as they were done the family was at 'em and I said "nooo, noo! They're for tomorrow" but alas, it did not work. Thankfully, there were plenty left. But I also made "Mocha Crackle Cookies" (while in fear that the others were done for) and they turned out pretty well, too.

They were definitely a hit at church. Though, I was just glad to find that someone had brought Chocolate Mousse! Which was light and fluffy and AMAZING! I love, LoVe, LOVE, light and fluffy chocolatey substances (...most of the time..) :-D

First of all, you MAY have noticed my blog name is no longer "It's about Friends" ya see, I've always been one that likes change, and I was really getting sick of the other name. While I was thinking of carrot-like names for something, I randomly thought "that's the way the carrot crumbles" and I thought it was cute, so I changed my blog name to that... since my nickname is Carrot and all.

And so now the title of this post MIGHT have made you think "Chelsea feels like a blogger? How is this?" Yes, I know. I have failed to post regularly, and make a pretty lousy excuse for a "blogger" buuuuut! I recently tried something that made me think "I could blog about this!" Dearest friends, I have never had that thought in. my. life. But I did, and now I feel like a blogger. Special moment? I think yes. In fact now that I've started rambling, I'm thinking of all sorts of things I could tell you about!
The main one being (fear not!) Naked Fruit Juice. It's a BRAND, okay? In my opinion, a very poor choice of brand name, but it is what it is.

Anyway, this stuff is awesome. (This is the flavor I had, too) Ya see, we were watching the Food Network program "Unwrapped" and they showed how this stuff is made. I was interested to find that it's pretty much just fruit. There's no sugar or syrups or nastiness. So I wanted to know how it tasted. Coincidentally, the next day we were at the grocery store, and guess what I spotted? That's right! Wait, a monkey? no. What I saw was this juice and my wonderful mother allowed me to get one. And I think I may now be a juiciholic. ---Let it be known, just because I'm also a juiciholic does NOT mean that I'm giving up coffee! I still hafta have that at least 5 times weekly ;-)---

Well! I think I've gone on about a random subject for long enough now! Who knows, maybe now that I've felt like an official blogger, it'll stick. ...maybe. :)

Today we went to Longwood, and for some reason I didn't feel like taking pictures there. But on the way home was a different story. The sun was incredible (really bright and hard to drive with, I'm sure, but pretty all the same!) and see, I have this thing with looking at the sun. I really want to, but deep down, I know I'll end up blind. So I always go for the camera... it works better than my eyes when it comes to this. So here's the pictures I came up with.

Christmas time!!

It's getting super cold outside! Brrrrrr... and it's only 4 days until Christmas, and 3 until Christmas Eve. Which may be just as fun. So this week is supposed to be amazingly fun. Starting last night. My brother, Jonathan and I stayed up waiting for the lunar eclipse... well, we tried. I went to bed at 1:30AM, and fell asleep somewhere around 2:00. But none the less, we had fun finishing my gingerbread house. Which I had been working on forevah!! And now it's finally done!

Today, so far I've done school, played the wii :), practiced "it came upon the midnight clear" which my friend, Emma from "A Fresh Perspective" and I will be singing on at the Christmas Eve service at church .... *gulp* Annnd I've done more school and made COOKIES!! I'd always wanted to try these cookies...

Peanut Butter Kiss cookies. I don't know why I never did before, they're reaalllllllyyyyyyy easy. But somehow I haven't tried it until now. My other brother, Mikey came home for lunch (I was like "what the world"..) but when he saw them He said "Those look delicious" or something like that, so, SCORE! Haha!
I also am working today but that's okay, because I like my job :) Hopefully there won't be too much CC (Christmas Crankiness) going on ;-)

Tomorrow we will be going Christmas caroling with the church, that should be fun, too!
On Thursday my Aunt and Uncle are coming, and Friday is Christmas Eve!!! Jonathan and I have been planning a little, and we're thinking that after the Christmas Eve service has been attended, and stockings have been rooted through, it will be fun to watch one scary movie, and one funny movie, and then it will be Christmas! But we're not going to stay up all night, like I said, we already tried that and failed. :) Nope, my big brutherrrs are supposed to wake me up at 6 on Christmas morning so that we can watch cartoons and play wii until present time. Okay. I am officially excited. I sure hope they don't sleep in and forget! Haha!

A while ago, there was a family night at church. Woo hoo. Yes. I know. Anyway!!! My friend, Emma was working that night and so when it was time for her to be done, Lindsay and I headed out to pick her up and bring her back for the short remainder of the family night. We got there a little early (or maybe Emma was late, hmmm???) and so we were just poking around when all of the sudden "Chelsea, look at the little Joseph!" The little what? The little Joseph.
ah-hem. Please direct your attention to the adorableness I hold in the picture below. It was taken a few minutes after the "Chelsea, look at the little Joseph"

I was in awe of his amazing cuteness. Who wouldn't be? He was the best Joseph ever. Really.

Unfortunately, we have an evil dog. The evil dog found Joseph and saw him as a wonderful chew toy :-(

And so now, I am very sad. VERY SAD.

A while ago, I was at my friends' Emma and Lindsay's house and somehow, I aquired the nickname "Carrot" I do believe it had something to do with the fact that I'd recently dyed my hair red around that time... that MIGHT have had something to do with it. So for a pretty long time now, I've been refered to as "Carrot" of course, not ALL the time, but it is pretty common around here "Hey, Carrot" "yeah?" :P
So today I found it funny that "Carrot" was going to make Carrot Cake Cupcakes... how awkward, right??? But it wasn't too wierd. In fact, they turned out pretty well!

A looooong time ago I had the idea that it would be fun to take my friends Lindsay and Emma to the mountains with us when we went, but it turned out that they couldn't come this trip (we went this week) and so Emma told me to take a picture of her so that she could still be there, and she was very there, I must say!!

BIG week!

Hello! I'm very sorry for not writing for a while but we've been pretty busy! I will give details.... now.
Last Sunday we (my Grandma's, Jonathan, and I) headed off to stay with my aunt and uncle and while we were there we went with some good friends of ours on their boat for a day! Fun stuff! SO here's a bunch of pictures from that trip.

We got home on Tuesday and rested well after that big adventure and on Friday My dad took us kids to Purple Door, our favorite music festival.
This is Jonathan with the drummer from his favorite band, The Classic Crime.

Mikey and I were excited!

I couldn't see very well so I just took a picture of the big screen, I think that worked pretty well, don't you? ;)

On Saturday we our friends came for the second day of the festival.

Jonathan got this mask, Thousand Foot Krutch was selling them to go with the "Welcome to the Masquerade" theme (that's their latest album)

Seabird was really good, we got front row seats! Except... we weren't sitting...

It was cloudy, but that was actually really wonderful because it wasn't so desperately hot as it tends to be... every year...

SO! It was a very busy week, but a very fun one!

Stuff!

There is an awesome car for sale along a road that we go on regularly, so we keep passing it, and I LOVE it! It's sooooo cute! So recently, my mom, dad, and I have been going out for coffee on Saturday evenings, and so when we went this past Saturday I asked if we could stop and look at it, and we did! My mom got pictures...

Okay and on a different note (a REALLY different note...)

We had a meal on Sunday after church and I wanted to try something I've never tried before,and so I made a chocolate mousse torte. I figured, how can you possibly go wrong with chocolate mousse anything? It's mystery to me :)

It turned out well and disappeared fast! :)

Some more Biscotti

I'm really into making biscotti right now, so consequently, you're going to hear about it (or rather, "read about it") So the other day my mom let me try 2 new recipes! Orange Biscotti, and banana nut biscotti. Well, I went to make the orange and realized that we had no orange extract or oranges or anything orangy. That's a problem when you're trying to make something orangy, isn't it? So I changed it into almond cranberry biscotti, then later after I'd gotten orange extract, glazed it with an orange glaze :) Mmm... who knew those flavors would work so amazingly together? Not me, apparently, but now it's one of my favorite combination's!!

Then I made the banana-nut, and simply topped it with some milk chocolate.

Today I tried peanut butter biscotti with mini chocolate chips and peanuts mixed in, topped with milk chocolate drizzle and peanut butter glaze. It's pretty good, but I think I ~~scorched~~ over-baked it just a wee bit as it is kind of dry, ~~in fact it's almost like a desert! I HAVE been kind of fascinated with Egypt lately...~~

:P It tastes good though, and it will still make an excellent partner for hot chocolate or coffee later. Sorry, I don't have pictures of it yet...

Biscotti!

I'm not too experienced with biscotti, but for some reason the past few days I REALLY wanted to try it again (I'd only ever done it once before, and it turned out pretty crumbly) so last night I tried it again. I used a recipe called "Brownie Biscotti" and it turned out really well! I just changed some very little things, like, the recipe called for pecan pieces, but I thought almond bits would be better, so I did that. Then after they were done, I thought that there was something it needed, then I figured it out! Glaze! And since I've been in a real chocolate/raspberry mood recently, I made some raspberry glaze (I even made it purple) and drizzled it on and they turned out beautifully! ...At least I think so. Maybe I'm just the prideful baker here or something, though :) Anyway, then I took pictures of it and THEN let people have some :P

Blueberry Pie Recipe

This is a blueberry pie recipe that I got from (where else?) allrecipes.com, I made it for lunch at church a week or so ago and it disappeared rather quickly. I got the chance to taste a wee bit that was left in the pan (all the full size pieces were gone) but what I had was very yummy! I love fresh blueberry baked stuff!

Ingredients

3/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 cups fresh blueberries
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1 tablespoon butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon, and sprinkle over blueberries.
Line pie dish with one pie crust. Pour berry mixture into the crust, and dot with butter. Cut remaining pastry into 1/2 - 3/4 inch wide strips, and make lattice top. Crimp and flute edges.
Bake pie on lower shelf of oven for about 50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Enjoy!

But I tested a little too much a little too soon and as a result I have no idea what it tastes like... except that there's no lack of pepper. I could tell that :\ hehehe! So I just thought I'd show you! As busy a weekend as this is, somehow I ran out of things to do this evening even though I had seemingly "so many" things to do earlier... :)

Peanut Butter Frosting Recipe

After epic failing my first try at Peanut Butter Frosting the other day, I tried again only this time I was using my own recipe and brand name peanut butter (I think I'd taken Jif for granted before) so anyway, I came up with a pretty awesome recipe of my own, if I do say so myself... and I thought maybe some of you would like to have it. I hope you like it if you try it! And be sure to use brand name peanut butter!!

Ingredients

6 tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup confectioners sugar, divided
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 tablespoons milk

Directions

Beat butter and peanut butter with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Add 1/2 cup confectioners sugar and beat again until creamy. stir. Add the other 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed about 1 minute or until light and fluffy. Stir again then put on cake or brownies.

Earlier, Mikey came into the living room and said "Hey Chelsea, do you want to go to the skate park and take pictures of me?" I've been his photographer before so this wasn't too surprising. I agreed and we went, this was the best picture I got of him.

Sometimes I mess with the camera just for fun while he's planning the next picture, so here's a random shot.
It's my shadow... I guess that's kind of obvious though :-)
So yeah, I thought those were pretty interesting. Oh! I almost forgot about this one! Last night we went to see a movie and as we were walking we saw this sign. Someone posted a sticker over the "N" I thought it was funny.

Apparently people liked the pictures that my mom had on her blog of the chocolate chip cheesecake I made, and apparently I'm supposed to post the recipe :) I got it from my favorite recipe site, allrecipes.com

Ingredients:

1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
3 tablespoons butter, melted
3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, combine cookie crumbs and butter. Press onto bottom of 9 inch springform pan. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
In large bowl combine cream cheese, sugar, and flour. Mix at medium speed until well blended. Stir in eggs one at a time. Blend in sour cream and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour batter over baked crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 55 minutes. Allow to cool completely before removing from pan. Store in refrigerator.

On Thursday we went to the mall (fun, fun, fun!!!) we got lunch, then did our shopping (which went well, we all got what we needed... I think) and as we headed out we stopped by Auntie Anne's and got a pretzel and this blue drink sort of thing, which made my tongue blue!! I caught my reflection in the rear view mirror and thought it was funny, and it reminded me of my friend, Emily's post, that had a picture of her with a red tongue from a red slushy. So I took a picture and wanted to share!! Haha!

Flowers and Bowling Pins

Funny sounding, right? Wrong. I was actually just telling you what I have pictures of :) hehehe, anyway... On Tuesday we went to bowling as usual and we (oh my goodness!) BOWLED!! Then afterward we had the pleasure of bringing my friends Lindsay and Emily home with us! But before we left someone noticed a box of old bowling pins, and told Lindsay and Emily's Grandpa about it, who decided to buy them and share them with his family. That is why there's a bowling pin in these pictures, it's not like we ran down a bowling lane and took it.

Be Careful with that, Emma...

We had a good time :)

On Thursday, my Grandma, mom, and I went to Winterthur and then Longwood, where I got some pretty flower pictures.

Messing around with a camera...

Leads to pictures, of course! Here are some that I've taken recently... most of them are of my head because I don't know why... they just are. So here we go!
Mikey was on the phone walking around the computer, where I was messing with the camera so when he hung up I got him to get in the picture with me, then later I edited the colors.

Last night I got in the tree, but it was dark so it was hard to get a picture, but anyway, this is the best one I got... AKA: The one you can see anything in.

This sunset was SOOOOO pretty! I had to get a picture!!

Muffins and art

These are my new flip flops! I needed new ones really badly... so now I have them and it's really great! I really love the design, then when I put them on I noticed the stripes on the shoes and polka dots on my toes, I thought it was funny so I took a picture to share with you!

Spring? Is that you?

The weather has been pretty nice lately, good for going on walks and... other stuff. It's just nice to be outside in general. Too bad I have a cold, that's ruining it just a bit :o( Oh well, I haven't felt completely horrible when I woke up yet so maybe I can fight it off without getting a really big deal of it, I sure hope so!!
Anyway, like I was saying... I can't wait for spring, when I can go outside in a T-shirt, shorts, and flip flops (or is that summer?) well, whenever the time is that I can do that, that's what I can't wait for!!! Soon we'll be seeing some of these...

Wow seeing that picture makes me happy!!
So does this one, not because it's a good picture, because 1. I have a frozen latte' which ever since a week or two ago, I dream about the thing daily (yes I am crazy!!) and 2. Because this day was AWESOME! It was so fun, we took my friends along to see the premier of "Joseph" at sight and sound and had SUCH a good time!!

So yeah that was me rambling on about whats been on my mind, which is kind of fogged up because of this annoying cold, but like I said: At least it's not absolutely awful!!

Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

My mom posted this picture over at her blog, Hospitality Lane, and I guess some of you wanted the recipe so here it is! (It is really yummy, I got the recipe from allrecipes.com, Thank you!!)

Chocolate Cheesecake 1

Ingredients:
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/3 cup melted butter

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 can cherry pie filling

1. Prepare crumb crust by combining crumbs, butter (or margarine), and 2 tablespoons sugar. Press mixture into the bottom and 2 inches up the sides of a 9 inch spring form pan. Refrigerate.

2. Melt chocolate chips in top of a double boiler over hot water, set aside.

3. Beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy. Blend in eggs. Gradually pour in chocolate, beating on low speed until well-blended. Add 1/2 cup sour cream, flour, and vanilla. Blend until smooth. Pour into prepared crust.

4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 55-60 minutes or until filling is firm. Turn oven off. Cool cheesecake 1 hour without opening the oven door. Cool completely. Chill several hours or overnight. Top with cherry pie filling and sprinkle on some chocolate chips and you're done!

It's really good, even though it's a bit trickier to make than some other cheesecakes. Enjoy!!!

I've been pretty busy lately (very very good thing)! Doing all sorts of stuff. A few days ago my mom, Jonathan and I went to the mall in search of some "formal attire" for Jonathan. I looked at stuff that interests me while they did this, seeing that I'm easily distracted/bored/uninterested, that was fun. I took the picture of my feet while I waited for Jonathan to try something on or something, that's what the picture has to do with this in case you wondering.
I had a good time with my friends Emma and Lindsay over at Creekside Cottage and everyone on Monday-Tuesday, thanks Mrs. Rabe! This morning I went to help with little children at a bible study for women, this really helps the ladies that go to the study, knowing that their children/grandchildren are having a good time and learning about Jesus. In about an hour Mikey and I will be leaving to go roller blading as we do every Wednesday (or almost...) We both really enjoy it, not to mention a cappuccino or some other thing afterwards. Stuff. Fun stuff. Love it!! Unfortunately, more snow is coming. Sorry but I'm ready for summer.

MY Eiffel Tower!!

In case you didn't know already, I really like France. I don't really know why I just do, one reason, of course, would be the Eiffel Tower. It's so cool! So only about a week (if that) before Christmas my parents and I were in a store and I saw this lamp, and immediately fell in love. I got it for Christmas! I was so happy!

These sugar cookies were annoying to make, really, really annoying. The dough was first crumbly (ahhh) then we added milk and let it chill in the fridge, but it was sticky then... anyway, the cookies turned out fine.

Last night before bed, I was a little... hyper. :) I got a fabulous princess hat in a package from my dear friend, Julianne. There's a story behind it but it's kind of long, so anyway, I got this princess hat and I was trying to find a good place to keep it, so I put it on my giant stuffed dog, Kirby's head. Then I got the brilliant idea to dress it up completely, so here's Kirby, all dressed up. Hahaha.

Then I got a picture of me in the hat and really cool swirly scarf also sent to me by Julianne.

and then I put on a strange outfit and took a picture just for fun! Oh, the funny, funny things I do. :)

A different view of the Christmas Tree

I was told to water the Christmas tree, and so I did. After about 15 minutes I found a spot where I could dump the water into the tree thing. But then I felt kind of stuck, being really far under the tree and all. So I asked my mom to hand me the camera. This is what it looked like.

Cookie Madness!

Today I made cookies... lots of cookies!
Some no bake cookies, I love these. My mom used to make these a lot and so they bring back memories.

Also some peanut butter between two Ritz crackers covered in chocolate... cookies.

And M&M cookies, Yummy! They are so fun! Except that the cookie dough didn't have enough moisture so they are a bit crumbley, still good, though.

I've been pretty busy going places and doing different stuff.
I've also been baking a lot. Cookies, mini pumpkin cheesecakes, all sorts of stuff! I love it!
We got some snow last week and Mikey and I went out in it for a while, unfortunately it didn't stick around for long. Oh well, I'm sure more will come.
I've also been preparing for Christmas a tiny bit, but we still don't have a tree! Yikes! Maybe tomorrow. I hope so!!!

More Treats!

In case you haven't caught on yet, I like making candies. Today I made some rice krispie treat balls coated in chocolate.

Before being dipped in yummy milk chocolate...

With chocolate and sprinkles.
But I had extra ingredients! Soooo...

I put the remainder of rice krispie treat stuff into a round baking pan and let it sit for a while then later I turned it upside down and it out, now circular, then put the rest of the chocolate on top with more sprinkles and some chocolate chips.

Raspberry Chocolates

My mom and I went to the grocery store, where we purchased some chocolate wafers. These are what I use to make chocolates with. I melted them down and added some raspberry extract for some extra flavor, then put the melted chocolate into a mold. They came out like this!

A New Kind of Drawing

When drawing, never before had I known that I could be creative like this. Well, apparently I can. We were at the bowling alley on Tuesday for our regular Tuesday bowling and Jonathan was drawing a cool picture with twists and other interesting designs, so when we got home, I decided to try it and this is what I came up with.

Not too bad, right?
I thought "this is fun!" so I did another...

These pictures do take a lot of time because of the detail in them, which is great because it keeps me busy!
I've actually done two versions of this one...

Friday when we went shopping I got a sketchbook and some more Sharpie pens.
I've done some more in there.
I actually just did this one about a half hour ago.

Apple Pie

I rarely make pies, but it was chilly today and it made me think of autumn, which makes me think of apple pie :)
Leave it to me to see seasons as different baked items, fortunately, that is not the only thing I see them as.
If I did it would be like this.

Autumn- Apple Pie
Winter- Sugar Cookies
Anyway...
We're going to skip ahead to the fun part, assembling the pie(s) I only took pictures of one before it was baked.

Do you see this? YUM!
We did one with a flakey crust and one with a crumble topping, the one with crumble topping was bubbling over in the oven (which made my funny mind think "My pie bubbleth over" lol) but when I tried to put a cookie sheet under it and settle the other one in such a way, I burnt my hand! OUCH!

Eventually the pies came out of the oven, and they were looking good!
Look for yourself:

You may have noticed a blob of crust on the front, before the pie went into the oven that was a pretty heart, unfortunately it didn't turn out. My mom said that it is a broken heart :)
This is the one with the crumble topping. Mmmm...

This is me. This is me on a dirtbike!!! While in the mountains this past week, I was told that I really should learn to ride it, so... why not? It was fun!

Cupcakes!!!

Yesterday I had nothing to do, as usual. So I decided to make some cupcakes and decorate them, this would be fun! I love decorating things, but it's kind of complicated so I don't usually do it.

I have to tell you about this, though. I was looking in the cupboard for the paper cups that you put the batter into, but I could not find them anywhere! It took me about 20 minutes to realize that they were in FRONT. They were right in front of my face! Oh my goodness!

Anyway, this is what the cupcakes looked like once they were done. All I needed to do was decorate them.

There are five special ones.
They each have a first letter of someone in our family's name.
This one has a "B" for Becky, my mom.

"W" for Warren, my Dad. I really like this one, the flowers were put in just the right places.

"M" for Mikey, His cupcake is also one of my favorites.

"J" for Jonathan.

"C" for Chelsea, it's mine! I want to eat it... but it took so much time!

A Garden Fresh Salad

Last night I saw that I had a pepper ready to be picked and we also had a cucumber that I'd picked the other day that we needed to use, AND some tomato's that my Grandma gave us from her garden. We had BLT's for dinner, and I thought a salad would go along well with that "summer" theme.
So I...
Cut up my very best pepper. :(

I then cut up my cucumber.

These tomato's were next in line.

The lettuce was not fresh from the garden, but it was good anyway.
After adding cheese, it was ready!

It was yummy, especially with the BLT's, which I forgot to take a picture of. oops!

Oh, The Simple Things

This picture may be a little bit confusing. No worries! I am going to explain!

This is a Teenie Beanie Baby. We got this little guy when we went through McDonalds yesterday.
The story to this is...
Chloe loves to chew ANYTHING. She's good at it too. All the toys we got from pet stores always ended up torn up and un-fluffed (meaning all of the stuffing had been ripped out) But our Chloe prefers stuffed animal toys than the hard rubber ones. One day my mom was cleaning and found an old McDonalds toy. She gave it to Chloe, who LOVED it. It took her a few months to even rip it a little bit, when the expensive pet store toys would be gone within the first week.
So yesterday when we saw the sign for those little toys, we thought that Chloe could use a new toy, we even got excited. Isn't that Pathetic?
Anyway, when Chloe saw this new toy, she went crazy. She took it everywhere with her. So cute!

I used my new hard-boiled egg slicer to, what else? Slice the egg. It was fun to use!

Last week I started doing the "thinking on Saturday" posts. My mom at Hospitality Lane is doing it too, so be sure to check hers out!

I'm not thinking much on this Saturday, but what I have been thinking, I'll share with you.

1. Right now I'm hungry... hoping breakfast comes soon!

2. My cucumbers and other veggies are finally getting bigger. The cucumbers are getting more round! Yes! So much better than skinny little things.

3. I should finish painting my model rocket soon. Where is the sand paper so that I can sand it down? Then put the ladybug design on it, then send it up into the sky!

See? My brain must be temporarily shut down :)
I should hope it gets running again soon!

Art and Yummy Food!

Yesterday we went to the Library. Because I like to make cards and to scrapbook, I have been wanting to get idea's for creative lettering. So I got a really neat book on it, the book is filled with idea's, but I've been doing my own lettering and then just using the idea's from the book for filling them in.

Yesterday I also made these yummy treats.
It is green peppers, tomato's, and mozzarella cheese on top of a french baguette cut into flat pieces like you see here. Before we put the toppings on, we spread a mixture of Olive Oil, Garlic, Sea Salt, and Dried Basil Leaves on the pieces of bread. After the oil and toppings were put on, we ground pepper on top of each one, and then broiled them for only a few minutes, when the cheese was melted we took them out and they taste so good!

Don't they look good? They are!

Thinking on Saturday...

If you read my mom's blog, Hospitality Lane, you may have seen some "Thinking on Saturday" posts. She invited anyone to join her in this little party thing. I'd like to, but mine will most likely be different.

Things I have thought (or maybe said) today,

1. Chloe stop licking my face... Oh, wait she has to go outside.

2. OH NO!!! Eggs, please don't burn!

3. This bacon is AMAZING!

4. Jonathan, give me the remote, I don't like this one! It's too sad!

Okay, most of those things are things I said, so what is on my mind?

Mikey has been really tired... poor him!
I kind of know what that's like. He has
been working so hard at Longwood Gardens,
But he loves it!

My hair is finally behaving, uh-oh!

July 6th was my birthday but we celebrated the whole week (I made sure of that, haha).
There was lots of good food, presents (YAY!), and fireworks. I love having my birthday that week, by the way.
But shall we go back to the presents?

These little Egg themed kitchen tools are adorable!I got 3 new things for my collection.
In my whole collection I have...
An egg-making pan, this works excellently for it's purpose. I love to make breakfast using this. A new egg cutting board, an egg whisk (perfect for making scrambled eggs), An egg "Toast-Grabber", a new egg timer, and a new egg slicer.
I love my egg collection. :)

I am sorry this picture is blurry. It is a cute necklace that my Grandma Georgia got for me in Florida. It reminds me of our trip to Florida! Love it!

My goodness things are growing!

Only a week or two ago, I showed you vegetables that I had just planted. Well, now they're getting big! And I want to show you the improvement.

Cucumbers... This is my first year growing them and I am so excited.

Healthy, Pretty, not to mention Delicious!!!

Tonight we were on our own for dinner. I had not been sure of what I would make for myself. I decided on making a chicken salad (a salad with chicken on top, yeah. That kind) I was watching the cooking shows, though, which made me want to have some fun with it. I made it pretty and then took pictures.

Does this not look yummy? It was sooo easy to make, too! Just cut up the lettuce, heat and cut leftover chicken, sprinkle on some cheese and bacon bits, drizzle on some ranch. YUM! That's exactly what I did.

Later, my sweet tooth was going crazy. I almost pulled out ice cream when my brother started making a fruit salad...ah ha! Sweet and healthy, yippee!

Beautiful Spring time

It's official! Spring is great!
The past few days EVERY DAY something has changed outside. Yesterday there were no flowers in a certain spot, today there are! Only yesterday did leaves start popping onto the tree's, today I noticed a lot more shade in our yard than we've had for a while. Then a bee went buzzing by my head and I freaked out :) I don't like bugs... not at all. Our hosta plants are growing like crazy! They seem to be doubling their size every day.
And now there is HEAT. Very much so. A little too much, maybe, but I'm not going to complain.

A while ago, I'd played the game Wii Fit at a friends house. I really liked it, it was fun and my posture was improving. So I then really wanted this game, I had money to put into it, but not enough. So I did chores around the house for what seemed like forever but finally after co-op one day my mom took me and we got wii fit. I was SO thrilled! I still love it. One of the first nights we had it I decided to do the jogging game. I was soooo tired after doing that. I said "I'm never doing that again" but the next night I tried it again. it was easier. It kept getting easier and easier until I got to the hardest level then it was hard again.
It still is. I jog in place for 10-15 minutes (depending on how fast I go)
I've done it a few times now and it is getting easier. So today it was chilly but nice for a jog, so I attempted going around the neighborhood with the dogs but as you can imagine the dogs had to sniff and/or bark at every thing they saw. So later I tried again, without dogs. I tried jogging none stop, that didn't work because I needed to breath (breathing keeps me alive, you know) so I stopped about four times. It didn't go as I had planned. I hope that I can do better in the future, it's not like the neighborhood is going anywhere.

Last night my brothers were gone and it was just me and my parents, so my mom and I went to the fabric store and got these little fabric squares...

I had been bored all day so I was ready for SOMETHING fun. My mom, my dad, my grandma's and I all went out for dinner and then my mom and dad took me to an ice cream place and I got a milkshake. That made yesterday extra special, but that's not the whole thing... when we got home I used that little fabric square and came up with...

Feeling Better

This is me today feeling oh so much better. I was able to enjoy beautiful weather that we have not had since.... Florida? maybe.
I took the dogs on a walk and just spent some time outside, oh and speaking of the dogs...

Chloe is enjoying eating extra treats while learning the trick "roll over" she's taking her time learning it, but she's doing pretty well.

Roller Coasters

I used to hate them... only about one year ago.
And then I went on a little tiny one, and then I went on "The Lightning Racer" at Hershey Park, and from then on they got a little bit bigger every time.
So on our trip we got to go to Busch Gardens with our cousins. WE HAD A BLAST!!!
Some of our cousins -and Mikey, of course- went on a REALLY HUGE roller coaster before me... because I was saying "no way" but when they got back the all had so much fun. I didn't say anything else (other than yelling at Mikey for tricking me into thinking that he hated the huge thing)I just stared blankly and said "okay... I'm going on it" everyone cheered and of course I loved it. After I went my dad and Lee decided to go too (apparently if I can do it, anyone can) We tried to convince Jonathan to get on too... but no, never. He always spoils the fun when it comes to roller coasters. After that one, I was afraid of none other (until I see a really gigantic monster roller coaster and totally freak out) but that hasn't happened yet. I enjoyed other roller coasters without thinking twice before getting on them after that.
