Happy new year!!!

Wow. simply wow.
I can't believe that it is New Years Eve already! Didn't we JUST have New Years?
And yet here we are again. It amazes me...
But it has been a great year, as far as I'm concerned.

Let's review.

LAST new years eve, I went to Longwood Gardens for the first time. Since, our family has gone back many times, enjoying every visit.

And who could forget the adorable Chloe-in-a-bag?
Too cute!

I enjoyed many riding lessons with Lindsay (from Creekside Cottage)
Thanks Lindsay!

This year I had lots of fun with the camera, I love doing photography!

I also really love to make chocolates, bake, and cook.

I won't forget some of the experiences that I've had this year... such as a summer job, and baby sitting for friends.

All of the fun (and nerves) of the Thanksgiving concert for homeschool group will not be forgotten either.

A great and tasty Thanksgiving.

Fun times with silly friends were around this year, and I hope they'll be back next year.

Our family relaxed and enjoyed eachother on our trip to the mountains.

And of course a wonderful Christmas was spent cozy at home with family.

And to think, these are only SOME of the things that this year brought.
so long 2008, it's been fun.
Now get ready for 2009!
here we go!

I've been tagged!!!

My mom tagged me with this...thing!
Alright, I have to

*Go to the sixth folder in "my pictures"
*Find the sixth picture in the sixth folder
*Pray that I remember what it is about(?)
*Blog about it
*Tag six people to do this too!

Here it goes...
I found Chloe!

This is simple...
Of course, you all know that this is my "puppy" who always seems to be sleeping.
That's what she's doing here! You have no idea how many picture's we have of this lil' puppy sleeping. It seems to be what she does best.
Sorry, no big story about this one... just a sleepy pup.

I really have no idea who to tag...
so if you'd like to do this, go ahead, and enjoy!

Cooking, Baking, & eating!

That's what I did yesterday. The first thing after I woke up we went to set up at the church for last night's "Ladies Tea" which was very fun! We went looking for a tree to set up at the church, although it wasn't until later that my mom and Mikey found one. Oh, it was pretty!
Then after we had set up we went home and I cooked and I baked, I was making things for the tea. I love to bake and cook. First I made fudge.

It was fun to make!
Then I made sausage balls with cheese in them. yummy.
It was hard work to make them though!
first I had to mush all the ingredients together. Yeah, I know it seems like it would be gross to do it with your hands but I don't mind it.

After everything was very well mixed I rolled the sausage into little sausage meat balls.

That picture only shows about half of the amount I made.
I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of the things I made when they were done, I know that would have been MUCH more appetizing!
But I was busy enjoying the tea and little snacks... I'm very glad other people made yummy treats too, even though I love to cook, I couldn't do that much! At least not NOW I couldn't...

Fun Times!!!

My friend spent the night on Tuesday. I really enjoyed it... what's funny though, is that we cleaned, and cooked, and everything! That's not what I would think of as a normal sleepover!!!
Like I said, we made dinner Tuesday night.

Me made hamburger barbecue.

We made broccoli.

and we made onion rings.
I have no idea why, but my brothers were very unappreciative for it.... but the next day my brother Jonathan admitted that our meal was good, and that he has to make fun of us, because he's... my brother!!! arg.

Later on we watched the movie "Horton Hears a Who" and knitted. I'd just bought the movie earlier in the day.

The next day we did school and then messed around some, we watched "Kung Fu Panda"
which has come to be one of my favorite movies! My brother suggested we play "Mario Kart Wii" so we did that... Haha! I beat my brother!

So, at least I know that I had a good time!

I love to knit!!!

You have to see what I've been working on this week!!!
Yesterday I went to the store and got two new pairs of knitting needles, I got a size 15, and a circular one. The size 15 is big, I love it!

Here is a scarf that I am making for "the mitten tree" that is a group that gives out scarves, hats, mittens, and gloves to kids who need them.

It's not done yet, but it's getting there.

And just last night I started working on a tiny little blankee... or something. I have no idea what it is yet but I think it will be a blankee.
here it is.

I love it!
Knitting is SO great!

Interesting facts about books... and me.

This has been going around but I thought it might be fun. I have to put down 7 facts about books and me, only I have to put them together. Let's see how this goes.

1. I've always loved to read, I also love to write. When I read something I not only pay attention to the story, but how exactly it is written. I've seen PLENTY of different techniques by now and I've tried to combine them. I hope to be an author someday.

2. One of my favorite author's name is Nancy Rue. That's just funny because it sounds so much like Nancy Drew. I was watching a little video with Nancy Rue in it and she said she used to LOVE to read Nancy Drew, so she thought it was totally funny when she got married and her last name was Rue.
Nancy Rue write's GREAT books for girls my age and under, like the "sophie series" (which I just finished reading for the second time) and the "Lily Series" (which I read last year-this year)

3. My mom says she wants me to read different authors, but I like the one's I'm already reading. Here lies the problem. I don't want to read different authors but I guess I'll just have to try. How else will I ever find out if I like different books or not. My friend keeps pushing me to read "the Christy Miller series" I might have to try that.

4. Unlike my mom at Hospitality Lane, I strongly dislike reading out loud but sometimes I read a verse or two out loud at bible study. I'm working on it.

5. I like to read odds and endsy stuff too. My mom read "Sutter's Cross" out loud to us last year (I think it was last year) anyway. I LOVED IT! Oh that is a wonderful book! She also read the books "Airborn" and "Skybreaker" which are 2 in the same series. They're really good too.

6. Because I read a lot I'm really good at spelling! Yesterday I got 32 out of 35 words right! I really do get a lot out of reading.

7. This year I read the "Friends for a season" series. Those are good too. I loved them and got much enjoyment out of them. I thought it was really cool that there were only 4 books because there are only 4 seasons. Each book was in a different season. that's really neat.

So if you liked this you should do one yourself! If you want too, than I TAG YOU!!!

Feeling...Christmas-ie!

Here's the deal,
My Mom won't let me get the Christmas tree out until after Thanksgiving, but the thing with me is once it has snowed or done anything even a tiny bit like Christmas, it gets me in the mood! So I've decorated my COMPUTER Christmas like. Okay, okay, it's not MY computer but I call it that because I use this one and my mom and dad use the OTHER one. But anyway... I started by changing my desktop to this picture of Kimmy in the snow:

Then, as you can see,
I changed my backround and picture for my blog!
Love it!
After that I made cute lil' decorations for the moniter and keyboard!
Look at these!

So now, I'm feeling better!
SOMETHING in our house has now entered Christmas land!

Come back soon!

A Fun Last Day of Work

Ummmm....Becky K. Here....I was supposed to post this some time ago...
Sorry Chelsea. I always preview Chelsea's posts and then post them.
Somehow I missed this one.
Well, enjoy...

Yup! Yesterday was finally the day, the day that the entertainment farm that I work for closed for the season! And did we ever have fun. I was working at the **don't laugh** condiment table, and my friend was working in the kitchen at the cash register. The condiment table is right next to the kitchen and there is a little window right next to the cash register. Yesterday was pretty slow, so we talked while at each of our positions, it was cool. The next nice thing that happened was, because we weren't busy my friend, her sister, and I got done with work EARLY! Earlier when I had been talking with my friend she told me that she, her sister, and 2 other friends would be going through a "flashlight maze" (at the farm there is a huge maze made in the corn field) so she invited my brother and I to go along. I called my mom and it worked out!

So the deal with the "flashlight maze" is you go in the maze after dark with a flashlight of course, and you have to find your way out. That is what we did. Eventually we got out, and immediatly went for hot chocolate, after that we got on a "hay ride" which is actually a great big wagon that takes you all around the farm (no hay involved). We went on that and then went home, we had a great time!

An Autumn Day

Yesterday started out...ok.
I had to go to work for five hours in the morning, that was okay.
Since some of my other friends work there too, it's nice. We have fun there together.
But it was Tuesday, bowling day. I knew my mom would be going to bowling with Mikey and Jonathan, and I also knew my friend Kristen would be there too!
So I asked my mom to "please bring me a friend" when she picked me up after bowling (I was only working until bowling was almost over so...) it worked out!
When my mom pulled in I saw Kristen sitting in the front seat and my brothers and Kristen's brother all squashed in the back seat! it was a funny sight!

But it wasn't so funny when I had to sit in the front middle seat... squish!

Anyway, we finally got home so Kristen and I, of course, played outside!
My grandma has a hammock, so we ALWAYS play in that. Later we made a small pile of leaves and played there!
Of course the camera was handy too!

After that we came in, had supper, and we were feeling very crafty. We made really cute cards, and adorable friendship...anklets! They were too big as bracelets.

But soon after that we had to take them back to their parents... I hope we get to play together again soon, I love the fall!

You just gotta have friends...

And let me tell you... I'd be a total bum without mine!
Friends are people who are encouraging & caring... they can always make you smile.
they will give and expect nothing in return.
I have great friends! And I am SOOOOOO glad that I do.

A friend of mine this week suprised me with a gift... out of no where, just a gift.
I love it! It is adorable! My friend MADE me a cute little jean purse!
Look at it!

I have awsome friends... and I am thankful for them!

The Reward for Working...

... And we all know there is one, you get paid!
I've had a paycheck for about 2 weeks, then I got another one.
So I took my paychecks yesterday and FINALLY got them cashed!
(This was right after I was done working for the day, of course) My mom and I went to Target and I found a VERY cute sweater dress, it's so soft and nice!
I love it! I paid for it of course and now... I got a refresh of memory of why I am working.

This Week

This week has been pretty neat... and unusual.

Monday-
Jonathan and I cleaned the entire house (Jonathan did more organizing than I did though) then my mom showed me how to make her AMAZING lasagne!!!
So she and I made that and then I made a salad, and TA-DA! A really nice day.

Tuesday-
We went bowling and then (a special suprise) we went to see the movie Wall.e with some friends, it's a cute movie... I liked it. Then when we got home I decorated my mom's birthday cake that I had made before we left.

Wednesday-
For school Jonathan and I were supposed to learn to make change easier so we played a game, we set up a store and one of us would shop and the other would be at the cash register... fun. Later the guys went and saw the new batman movie (yes we've been seeing a lot of movies lately, but just so you know... it's not a usual thing) I didn't want to see that so mommy and I went out for dinner then came home and I played outside.

Thursday (today)-
Homeschool group is about to begin and I'm taking a self defense class so I needed stretchy pants, so after dropping Mikey off at work my mom and I went to a thrift shop kind of store and found some great pants! After that we got some ice cream and then went to a yard sale, I found a nice church top. Soon my mom and I are going to make hard boiled eggs and then make some egg salad.. YUM!

Friday (tomorrow)-
I have to go to work...:( oh well, it's been a nice week. I'm sure I can survive a day of work.

Kung Fu Panda!!!

Yesterday we really didn't have much to do. When I asked my mom what we were going to do that day she said that she was thinking about going to see the movie "Kung Fu Panda" Jonathan had been wanting to see it, so Mommy looked to see when it would be showing because we knew of a theater that is kind of near us still had it there.

The showing was at 4:30 Mikey got off work at 3:00.
So that is what we did. I liked the movie a lot, it is really cute.

It was nice to spend time with our mom. At least I thought it was, the boys probably just appreciated the movie.

Yup that was a fun thing to do on a boring day, I'm very glad we did... good movie.

Sunday Fun with Friends!

Last night was very fun. We had friends from church over and we did all sorts of things. When our friends from Creekside Cottage came my friends and I got in my Grandma's Hammock and played in there for a little bit.

Here's little Kyle in the Hammock.

We played Ultimate Frisbee, oh what a fun game that is!
However it's not as fun when you lose.
yes it was 4 to 5 the team I was on was obviously the 4.
oh well, we enjoyed it anyway!

Then later our friend wanted to play her game of Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit.
And so did a couple other friends, Emma and I did not want to play so we read the quesions to the players.

After that we came in and Rachel and I played A to Z... I like that game!

Shortly after it was time to say goodbye but we did get a picture before then....

Have a good Labor Day!
